Altered Carbon
In the distant future, human consciousness can be digitized and saved into Stacks like memory chips and downloaded into different bodies grown like clones called Sleeves. Brought back to life after 250 years on ice by Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), the richest man on Earth, ex-Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman / Will Yun Lee) returns to life in a new body must investigate and solve Bancroft’s murder in exchange for his freedom, the chance to live again in a world he doesn’t recognize.
Watch out for the Ravel Hotel where Takeshi Kovacs stays in, it is a hotel completely runned by an AI with a mind of its own.
I love a good sci-fi show, better still if it is a sci-fi show with a really good storyline. I actually binge watched Altered Carbon over a weekend with its 10 episodes. This show reminds me of Minority Report and it explores the line between technology and humans still believing in the spirituality of religion. In the show, the richer people are, the sicker these rich people can get. As the saying goes, money is the root of all evil. There’s lots of sex, nudity and violence, so it is not for everyone.
