Morozoff Singapore

Morozoff Chocolates & Cookies x 75CL Wines Pairing

Morozoff is one of Japan’s leading luxury confectionary makers, it was founded by a Russian émigré in Kobe, 1931. Since then, Morozoff has played a pioneering role in the western confectionary in Japan.

I didn’t know we used to have Morozoff over here in Singapore more than 10 years ago, now it has made a comeback and opened up a Morozoff Singapore boutique at Plaza Singapura just last year.

Morozoff Singapore carries a selection of the brand’s signature fine chocolates, cookies and other packaged sweets such as madeleines and financiers, all air-flown directly from Japan to ensure quality and freshness.

Together with 75CL, they recently held a Morozoff Chocolates & Cookies and Wines Pairing experiential event at the Morozoff Singapore, Plaza Singapura outlet. If you are snacking on Chocolates & Cookies, of course it will be great to go with some good wines.

I don’t really like chocolates but I can tell you after trying Morozoff Singapore’s Premium Chocolates Selection that they are of a good quality.

The Moscato is my favourite among all the wines I tried. I generally like Moscatos so I recommend this if you have a sweet taste bud like mine. Surprisingly, I like the Riesling too. A lot of Rieslings can taste dry, this one is not and is also slightly sweet with a sour aftertaste.

I’ve tried both the Madeleine & Financier because I actually got one of each to try, they taste really rich and buttery.

Broadland also comes individually at $4 each.

Other than the Madeleines, Financiers & Baked Cheese Cakes, the Broadland range also includes flavours such as the Almond Cake Mint and the special and seasonal flavour that’s out for the Father’s Day period, the Setouchi Lemon Cake. I heard Morozoff Singapore had a Strawberry flavoured one for Mother’s Day earlier.

Fancy Dessert Puddings

Morozoff’s fruit Fancy Dessert Puddings have a refreshing combination of fruit juice and smooth jelly that allows the natural taste of the fruit to shine for their Orange, Grape, Peach, Hokkaido Melon & Cherry flavours. I’ve tried the Orange & Peach flavours, they are so good and really refreshing for this hot Singapore weather, one of it is not enough. Prices start at $10 for a bag of 2 and ranges to $87 for a box of 18.

The Fancy Dessert Puddings also come in Morozoff’s signature creamy Chocolate Mousse & Custard Pudding flavours with 7 flavours in total. Morozoff’s Fancy Dessert Puddings are best enjoyed chilled. They make perfect desserts for after meals.

I feel that the Japanese are really good at making Custard Puddings and Morozoff’s Custard Pudding is one of my favourites. Experience the smooth, rich taste of Morozoff’s Custard Puddings made from a mixture of eggs, milk & sugar. The mild bitterness of the caramel sauce melds beautifully with the mellow sweetness of the custard to create a balance of flavours. It is so tasty! Prices are at $15 for a bag of 2.
