The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is an iconic landmark in Seoul, South Korea designed by world renowned architect, Zaha Hadid. She’s a she and I was always wondering if she was related to the famous supermodel sisters, Gigi Hadid & Bella Hadid because of the same last name, but apparently not.
Located just right across Dongdaemun’s main shopping belt, DDP which also stands for Dream, Design & Play is a venue for design-related shows, conferences, exhibitions, events and gatherings. Events that are held there include Seoul Fashion Week and Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market / @DDP Youth Runway Market on Fridays & Saturdays in the evening.
I didn’t plan what to do at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), I just wanted to wonder around freely, explore the premises and check out the futuristic architectural design of the building, which kind of looks like a spaceship.
DDP Farmers Market
There was the DDP Farmers Market going on with food vendors at the Design Market on the day of my visit.
If you do plan to visit, I recommend that you allocate at least one to two hours because it is quite big and it will take some time to explore and walk around.

It is free if you just walk around but depending on some exhibitions held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), they do charge for admission.
