Today I will be reviewing the premium grade YCTea Sun Moon Lake Ruby Black Tea from Taiwan. Ruby Black Tea, also known as Taiwan Tea No. 18 is the only tea in the world that is unique to Yuchi Town in Taiwan. The tea is sweet and mellow, has a natural cinnamon taste with a light touch of mint aroma, providing a lingering taste. It has been called “Taiwanese incense” by tea experts for its uniqueness and commended as one of the top grade black tea leaves around.
This tea has passed EU’s highest inspection code 470 with zero pesticide content found. It has also won 3 Stars for the 2018 Belgium iTQi flavor excellent Samsung medal.
Directions
Add 200ml of hot water to a YCTea Sun Moon Lake Ruby Black Tea bag, then remove the tea bag from the cup after letting it seep for 2 to 3 minutes. One tea bag can be seeped for up to 2 to 3 times.
Alternatively, if you’re looking to have something cooler like a chilled tea, put one tea bag in 350ml to 500ml of cold water and place it in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours.
I still prefer drinking Black Teas hot. I feel that Black Teas are meant to be drank hot unless you’re drinking bubble tea made using Black Tea, then it’s better if it’s cold.

YCTea Sun Moon Lake Ruby Black Tea bags are made using good quality corn silk, making it an environmentally friendly product. Did you know that not so good tea bags produce these tiny specks found on the surface of the brewed tea? But I didn’t find any of these specks when I brewed this tea.
I like that it is in a three-dimensional triangular tea bag instead of those flat ones so that the tea leaves inside have ample space to twirl around while soaked in water.
The tea is very fragrant, I can smell the aroma the moment I pour hot water into the cup. It produces a tea that is golden brown in color, like honey. The brewed tea tastes smooth, pristine clear with a slight bitterness. I like that it has the capability to refresh my taste buds.
