Shopping at Edae

One of the places I like going to shop in Seoul is the Edae area, that’s also where Ewha Woman’s University is at. Every trip to Korea beckons a visit to do shopping at Edae.

Edae isn’t a very big area but you know how time flies while you are shopping and many tourists like to take photos at Ewha Woman’s University when they are there, so you should allocate at least about three hours here.

Shops line the left and right at the main street of Edae. You will easily find skincare & make up brand outlets such as Banila Co, Eco Secret, Etude House, Holika Holika, The Saem, Tony Moly & Too Cool For School or shops such as Aritaum, Lalavla & Olive Young that sell products from almost every beauty brand you know of here.

There are a lot of coffee houses, cafes and small F&B restaurants around where the university students hang out or study at. They also make good pit stop places for you to take a rest from shopping at Edae.

Don’t just stick to the main street shopping at Edae, explore the alleys too. There is this alley intersection that I will shop at when it comes to apparels & accessories, I always manage to find a gem or two.

Most of the shops at Edae sell things that are catered to the female students of Ewha Woman’s University who are in their early twenties. The apparels & accessories are fashionable and affordable but quality isn’t the best. But if you’re okay with seasonal pieces that can be worn once or twice when they are in trend, this is the place.

When shopping at Edae, I also like to go to this shop called Star 101. If you see the Ewha Woman’s University in front of you, Star 101 is at the basement of a building when you turn left at Eco Secret.

The clothes at Star 101 are similar, if not the same as those found at Goto Mall (Express Bus Terminal Underground Shopping). Their pieces are too young for me, but Star 101 has really nice statement tees, worth checking out when shopping at Edae.
