My Review

Both the Bioderma Sebium Mat Lotion and the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control have a floral and powdery scent that is refreshing.

The Bioderma Sebium Lotion is a transparent liquid similar to other toners.

I will use the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control after applying the Bioderma Sebium Lotion. The Bioderma Sebium Mat Control has a white and gel-like texture. I don’t use a lot of it at any one time, I will squeeze out a small amount about 1/3 the size of a 10 cents coin. It blends easily and quickly onto the skin when you apply it, leaving behind a matt finish.

Before (First Application)

This is me at the beginning, after the very first application of using both the Bioderma Sebium Mat Lotion and the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control. My skin looks fresh and mattified here.

After 8 hours

This is me after 8 hours. As you can see from the photo I took above, there’s shine to the surface of my skin now. Though there is shine, the level of oiliness is actually lesser than what I would usually have after 8 hours. My skin doesn’t look that oily, more like dewy, I find that it actually looks quite good this way.

After 7 Days

And then this is me after 7 days and a few hours after using both the Bioderma Sebium Mat Lotion and the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control. And over here, I am using the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control as a makeup base.

As I’ve mentioned on the previous page, the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control can be used as a makeup base. The only downside is that it doesn’t have SPF sun protection so I would still need to use a sunscreen or a moisturizer with sun protection together with it which kind of affects the end result of using it a little but the overall end result is still good, my face doesn’t feel that oily after a few hours.

Overall, I feel that both the Bioderma Sebium Mat Lotion and the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control does keep your skin hydrated but it is only effective to a certain level for the oil control part. Because even after use, my skin will still get oily after a few hours, just that it’s lesser now.

It can be frustrating when you are dealing with pimples or acne. I know, because there was a time when I too struggled with it. And though these days my skin condition isn’t as bad as it used to, I have sensitive skin and once in a while, I still have to cope with a few pimples here and there.

I don’t think both the Bioderma Sebium Mat Lotion and the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control is going to solve all your acne-prone skin problems but I think it will help a little.

• Be patient and stick with a targeted treatment programme, using products from a dermo-cosmetic range that’s created for oily, blemish prone skin.
• Depending on the person and the type of acne, improvement is generally observed.
