Relatively new in Singapore, 3PM Teas is a locally based premium tea brand that carries a wide range of quality tea products that is suitable for everyone at an affordable price. They have organic fruit teas for children, Masala Chai tea for Indian customers and traditional scented blends for those who fancy western teas. Their tea range covers green, white, black, oolong, caffeine-free, fruity and spice blended teas.
All of 3PM Teas’ fruit tea blends and special blends are produced and directly imported from German manufacturers where the production process is organic and EU certified. They also bring in the best loose leaf teas direct from different tea farms within the region, in China, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
How did the brand name 3PM Teas came about? It is actually based on the traditional English afternoon tea time at 3pm, which is between lunch at 12pm and dinner at 6pm.
They’ve been really nice and have sent me a number of different flavors of their tea samples for me to try. Read on to find out what I think of them. Do note that these are my own opinions, what I may not like doesn’t mean their teas aren’t good, they are just my preferences.
And make sure you scroll and read till the bottom because there is a #JuneunicornGiveaway of a 3PM Teas Gift Box too! 🙂
Rose Fairy
3PM Teas’ Rose Fairy is a flavored fruity tea blend with thousands of fragrant rose blossoms and the delightfully sweet flavor of grapes.
There is a complementary strong scent of roses and grapes for the Rose Fairy tea. I find the sweet scent of grapes stronger than roses for this one, smells too sweet for me. The Rose Fairy produces a tea of a beautiful pinkish coral color after brewing. It tastes sweet and sour with the fragrance of roses and grapes. I think it will be nice if it was chilled or served cold with ice for summer.
Directions: Brew 1-2 heaped teaspoons of the Rose Fairy tea with 150ml of 100 °C water for 8 to 10 minutes.
Wild Orange Sunrise
3PM Teas’ Wild Orange Sunrise is a naturally flavoured fruit tea blend with the fruity taste of wild oranges combined with exquisite blossoms.
The Wild Orange Sunrise tea has a strong citrus, fruity & sour scent and produces a tea of reddish & pinkish hue after brewing. You can really taste the flavor of orange, it tastes fruity and sweet with a sour after taste. Perfect as an afternoon tea with savoury pastries like scones, I like.
Directions: Brew 1-2 heaped teaspoons of the Wild Orange Sunrise tea with 150ml of 100 °C water for 8 to 10 minutes.
Apple Strudel
3PM Teas’ Apple Strudel is a flavored blend of rooibos tea with the typical fruity taste of apple strudel and preciously refined with almonds and pistachios.
I personally don’t feel that the Apple Strudel tea smells or tastes like apple strudel. It’s very delicious and sweet smelling, but I usually don’t like when something smells too sweet even for fragrances. It tastes sweet and has a slight sour after taste. And I don’t like nuts, the combination of the ingredients in this flavored tea blend just wasn’t for me.
Directions: Brew 1 heaped teaspoons of the Apple Strudel tea with 150ml of 100 °C water for 6 to 8 minutes.
Japanese Genmaicha
Certified organic, 3PM Teas’ Japanese Genmaicha is a very popular green tea tradition in Japan of mixing roasted & popped brown rice with fresh Bancha.
Green tea is a very common tea where most people I’m very sure, have at least tried it once in their lifetime, especially to go with having Japanese cuisine. The blend of Green Tea and roasted & popped brown rice together just brings its fragrance and taste up another level.
The Japanese Genmaicha has a relaxing scent, it produces a tea brew that is aromatic and refreshing with a light yellow color. It may tastes a little bitter but it works really well in clearing your palate.
Directions: Brew 1 heaped teaspoon of the Japanese Genmaicha with 150ml of 100 °C water for 2 to 3 minutes.
Pinky Oolong
3PM Teas’ Pinky Oolong is a naturally flavored tea blend of Oolong tea and fruits. This Oolong tea composition is a perfect harmony of taste and visual delight, featuring fresh fruity-berry citrus notes.
There is a strong sweet fragrance of fruits over the Oolong for the Pinky Oolong tea. But after it is brewed, the scent of the Oolong tea becomes stronger with a light lingering sweet scent. The Pinky Oolong tea has a usual tea color of light yellowish gold. You can really taste the Oolong that is slightly sweet and bitter at the same time with a slight sour after taste in the mouth.
Directions: Brew 2-3 heaped teaspoon of the Pinky Oolong tea with 150ml of 100 °C water for 3 to 5 minutes.
Royal Blue Earl Grey
3PM Teas’ Royal Blue Earl Grey is a scented full-bodied black tea blend with classic bergamot taste, it is gently flattered by colourful blue cornflower petals where this tea gets its premium look.
I love Earl Grey tea, it is one of my favorite types of tea, if not, my favorite. I would usually have it to end a meal at a restaurant when I have the choice, it helps to clear your palate especially after eating food that is too strong in taste or oily. I love the strong and unique scent of the Earl Grey.
The Royal Blue Earl Grey produces a tea that is golden brown, like the color of honey when you brew it. There is a slight bitter after taste (most Earl Greys have this but I like) that I counter by adding a little brown sugar just for a touch of sweetness.
Directions: Brew 1 heaped teaspoon of the Royal Blue Earl Grey tea with 150ml of 100 °C water for 3 to 5 minutes.
